Take action Project part 1

I am volunteering at the Shelter of Flint. Up to this point I have filled out my application, background check, and other necessary paperwork to start volunteering. A group of my classmates are help running a event for the children of this shelter, but unfortunately I can't make that because of work schedule. I locked my keys in my car when I visited the shelter, so I was able to spend an hour talking to Meg and some other ladies in the office about the Shelter. All the staff members were extremely nice. Currently I'm not happy about this process. I've called numerous times trying to find volunteer hours, whether it's building maintenance or whatever they need, but I can't get through or can't get a call back. The most surprising thing I've learned so far was seeing the children at this shelter. When I was a child I would've never thought to worry about where I was going to sleep that night.

  1. It sounds like so far the project has been a bit stressful with locking your keys in your car and your trouble getting a hold of people. I know this was posted a few days ago, so hopefully you have worked something out. It's nice that you had time to talk to them though!
