Dot Day

The beauty about a world full of seven billion people is the abundance of viewpoints. Every person has different experiences throughout life.  Through these differences we all become unique individuals. Because no one is exactly the same as the person next to them we all have different perspectives. All of these unique angles supply us with new knowledge. In the book, “The Dot”, the main character was mentally restricted within the confines of society’s idea of art. Once she was shown that art takes many different forms she began to blossom as a person. The protagonist was able to look through her teachers eyes and came to understand that art is whatever you make it. This idea of other people’s perspectives can be applied to this class because that is what we are continually reading about. Sometimes it is not enough to read about other people points of view but to try and see through other people’s eyes. This class is based on many perspectives. Not only do we have the views of people within a classroom we also have those of various authors and victims. From these peoples words we can try to experience the things they have and try to learn from them. The knowledge we acquire can then be used to teach others just like the protagonist used all her teacher taught her and passed it on to a young boy.
